Murrhardt. Even the Romans settled here. And they knew why. Around 200 AD, a fort with a settlement that the Romans called "vicus murrensis" (village on the Murr river) was located in the area of ​​today's Riesberg. These days, you can explore the remains of the watchtowers on the Roman border line, the Limes, here.

In the heart of the Swabian Forest, Murrhardt has been home to the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park Centre for some years now. Fancy some fresh forest air? Murrhardt Forest is ideal for hiking, cycling and horseback riding - and breathing in fresh forest air.

The densely wooded mountains, with their plateau-like peaks and the rugged Keuperklingen, mean you can enjoy nature no matter what the season. The Nature Park guides offer various excursions. Or would you prefer to spend some time alone on the forest learning trail on Riesberg mountain? Or how about a trip to the Hörschbachwasserfällen waterfalls?
